Surrender

Having had a week of sitting in emergency rooms, hospitals, hotels, and long drives, I have had a lot of time to think. Believe it or not, my thoughts continually gravitated toward gratitude. I also found myself in a state of complete acceptance. At first there was panic over the unknown, and doctors who sometimes don't remember to listen to their patients. Feeling alone and desperate to ensure my daughters safety, I lost my usual strength and foundation. In a moment feeling no support from angels or humans, I let myself totally surrender to the Will of God. In one deep breath, I released all that is and ever was. In that moment all the support I desired and more showed up for me. Doctors and nurses began to listen, friends reached out to be there for my daughter. In exhaustion, I was given the energy to do what needed to be done.

What came out of that moment of surrender, was spiritual organization, aligning everything we needed to make the best of an unfortunate accident. And even as I say unfortunate, I ask, "What good has come of this?" For me it has been about giving up control, letting go of the need to make things right, accepting once again, there is a reason for everything. I hear the words, "slow down, let me do the thinking, planning and creating. All you have to do is be in the moment." I am so glad I listened to those words, for I could never have found a hotel in a city with no rooms, let alone find a place that would cater without being asked to a girl just our of surgery and in a walker. I could never have flowed with ease through all the hoops of picking up walkers, pillows, new shower heads, and paraphernalia needed for a newly handicapped girl. Somehow this was all done for me, and as I stayed fully in the moment, clear directions were given each step of the way. Not just friends but strangers quietly and eagerly went out of their way to ease our journey. I feel so blessed.

Somehow, what may have triggered guilt, anger and victimization, has resulted in even more gratitude for life, more acceptance of people and circumstances.

It is ever more clear to me that we do not have much control over the events in our life. We like to think we do, and perhaps that is what creates most of the problems we encounter along the way. We have gotten too attached to an idea that we are co-creators, leaving little room for the original creator to work the miracles that give our life depth, meaning and comfort. In any co-creation there must be a director, a lead player, and supporting roles. At what point did I decide I wanted to be all three? In even my most spiritual moments, I see now where I still held on to the role of director much too tightly. I believe most of do.

I invite you to take a moment to sit on the bench, looking out over the water, enjoying the leaves in all their color. Could you have created that all on your own. Take a deep breath and imagine the energy it takes to create just the right amount of rain, sun, wind, and weather to sustain this view. Do you have the perfect vibration within you to create such miracles and sustain them? Can you marvel at how earth continues to rotate on it's axis, keeping us planted firmly here?

How do we ever believe that we must be the sole creator of our world? How do we even believe we can be? Today I am grateful knowing that only good can come, when we surrender fully and completely to the one who created us for a purpose. I apologize for my arrogance and avoidance. Today I gratefully accept the Will of God, knowing this guidance and direction will never lead me astray. I am willing to play the leading role, or supporting cast in whatever measure is required of me.

In "Don't Change For Heaven's Sake" I wrote a chapter on letting someone else take the wheel. I had seen the power of allowing Spirit and it felt good, but somehow I lost track of that trust and faith. I am grateful to be reminded once again.

Are you ready to play your part, and allow the director to make this movie of life according to the script? I invite you to try it, even if just for a day.

In gratitude and blessings I offer this piece of my life, so you may see how most of our events are similar, even though we are strangers on this earth. We are all learning the same lessons, reaching for the same stars, and being assisted by the same creative energy. May you find the faith to let go, surrender and live in the moment, knowing you are loved no matter what.

Miracles and the Soul

Sit quietly for just a moment. Focus on your heart center. Fill it with all the love you can possibly feel. Continue to fill that space with all of the expressions of love – forgiveness, gratitude, compassion, joy, peace, prosperity, vibrant health. You have just experienced a miracle!

According to A Course In Miracles, “miracles occur naturally as expressions of love”. Miracles are happening all the time, everywhere to everyone, but our perception of daily life blocks the idea of a miracle occurring. It is only when someone is rescued from death, instantly healed, or receives unexpected abundance that we declare a miracle. In awe, we speak of the event, as though it is an unnatural or abnormal occurrence. In those times when we forget our humanness and allow the Spirit of God to take control, miracles happen. In truth, miracles are not meant to bring awe, but to inspire gratitude and healing to areas of your life where you feel lack and fear.

All of us have the ability to provide miracles, through our forgiveness of others and ourselves. When we fill a need in the life of another, pour love out to the world without condition, or finally accept our own holiness, we have been a co-creator in a miracle.

We are all expressions of the miracle of life. Those who have children, feel the miracle at the birth of their children. At birth, we are still able to feel and know the soul of this new physical body. Life has not erased their memory. The love and trust that emanates from this little being, allows our soul to connect to theirs and unconditional love forms an eternal bond.

Each of us, created as miracle, cannot lose that essence, even with age. As we grow older and begin to see, feel and hear the beliefs and paradigms of our care-givers, we lose touch with the inner guidance and knowing. We are told what is right and wrong. We are told what to do "for our own good". We are disciplined for certain behaviors, and congratulated for others. Most of these decisions are based on the beliefs of our parents and grandparents.

When we see our angels and guides and tell the adults in our life, they are called imaginary friends. We lose faith in what we see and faith in ourselves for believing that these loving beings exist. It is here we begin to lose our faith in love, in our creator, in ourselves. The miracles are gone.

Yet where do we get the strength to rescue someone from a burning building, pull a child out of the way of a moving vehicle, carry someone for miles to safety? What is this voice that comes in the instant of danger and seemingly changes a traffic pattern, so we avoid an accident? How do we know not to take a specific route, a particular flight? How do we know that today is not a good day to go work and later find their has been a threat to life during the time we would have been on the subway, at the bank or in our office building? How do healing miracles occur?

We need only look to our soul, and believe once again in "imaginary friends" to find the answer.

Sit quietly for just a moment. Focus on your heart center. Fill it with all the love you can possibly feel. This itself is a miracle and a way to return to the innocence and trust of a child. With that unconditional love miracles are an everyday, normal occurence. Life becomes a new adventure, filled with endless possibility?

What miracle will you be today?

Being versus Getting

I am sitting with my thoughts, thankful for the peace, joy and health that exist in my world. Yet, I am uneasy with the thought that getting has become more important than being.

When did we start being measured by our houses, cars, incomes, vacations, clothing styles and designers....?

My inbox is filled with invitations to seminars, insisting that if I join the call I can make 6 figures, and my life will be transformed. I have listened to a few of these calls, out of curiousity. When they are over, I can't help but wonder how many people choose increased income over increased friendship, love, joy, health, and peace.

Don't misunderstand. I am not against high income, and the enjoyment that results from a good healthy cash flow. What is troubling me, is the feeling that the desire for material wealth has overtaken our desire to be of greater value to the world. I see so many who put money first, and never enjoy their lives. I see people who disregard even thier friends, family and clients, in order to gain the status of their peers. How Sad!

Should our power to manifest be used to amass material riches for ourselves, or should the manifestation be about creating more health, joy, love, peace and general abundance for all?

Somehow I believe that if we all used our power to bless others, then we would never have to ask for ourselves. Perhaps that is the proper interpretation of "It is better to give than to receive".

Just imagine what the world would be like if we all gave more value in service than what we receive in monetary exchange for goods or service? (This is an idea taken from The Science of Getting Rich) What if we sent more blessings of prosperity to our "competition", instead of trying to undercut them? What if we gave more to those who have nothing, instead of cramming our lives with material goods, we never use? What if more of us shared our blankets, clothing and food with the homeless? What would our world be like if we all chose our friends based on who they were, instead of how thier cash flow?

Who would you be if you had time to enjoy life, rather than spending your days seeking ways to "get more". Who would you be, if you were stripped of material worth? Who would you rather be?

I have adamantly stated over and over - Stop Changing - become who you are. I have promoted the "think from the heart" for several years.

If you wish your health was better, your finances improved, your relationships more intimate, or wanting a better outlook on life, then join me on this call. It is an introduction to a 6 week program that will give you the tools to transform, rather than change. You are worth it.

Remember, Reconnect, Feel & Manifest

How do you begin the process of remembering?

Reconnecting to our Soul Self or True Essence is a simple, yet elusive process. As I have said so often, it does not require change. In fact trying to change who you are further complicates the ability to connect with your Truth.

Connecting is about getting in touch with that part of You that never changes - Always was, is and will be, never-changing, always supportive, ever giving and loving.

Connection is not about slaying the ego - rather embrace that part of you that points out where the blocks are, how you are feeling about yourself right now, and what beliefs are ready to be released. Simply acknowledge that voice that speaks those words of warning that you are not enough, not capable, not pretty, not wealthy, not successful, not healthy - Acknowledge and say Thank You for showing me this part of how I am feeling.

Once you have acknowledged your ego, sit with how you would rather feel. Find a memory, or make one up, that resonates with the feeling you desire. Allow a vision of how that feeling is or can be manifest in your life. Then allow the old belief and the new vision to meld together. Carry this melded feeling with you, taking appropriate action to transform that part of your life that is stopping the new feeling to be true for you.

This is the start of reconnection. If you need help with this process or would ongoing support in the process send me an email to discuss how I can assist you. I am offering the readers of this blog post a 30 minute consultation to determine your best path to creating the experience of Heaven on Earth. julie@juliesheaven.ca
